Affordable Care Act, Employee Benefits & Superintendent Contracts
Jerry L. Zimmerman will provide an overview of components of the Affordable Care Act (“ACA”) as it relates to employees in public school districts and career tech centers. In addition, this session will help administrators tackle ACA and other key elements as they relate to employee benefits and superintendent contracts.
Legislative Update and Policies
Legislative paralegal Michelle D. Siegfried will provide attendees with an update regarding key legislation from the current session that directly impacts public schools and career tech centers. This overview will explore pending bills and anticipated policy changes based on new laws.
School law attorney Eric P. Nelson will discuss compliance issues involving the Competitive Bidding Act of 1974. Included in the discussion will be project delivery methods for construction projects and issues relating to the award and performance of construction contracts.
School law attorney K. Bo Rainey will focus on recent actions taken by county assessors to visual inspection budgets that have been negatively impacting school districts’ finances.
